New Release: Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics Skills - The Foundation for a Highly Skilled Workforce

Employment projections indicate that the jobs of tomorrow will require higher science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) skill levels supported with lifelong learning. The Workforce Boards of Metropolitan Chicago have issued the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math Skills:The Foundation for a Highly Skilled Workforce report for the purpose of providing specific information on the metropolitan Chicago region's growing need to increase STEM skills of its current and future workforce.

Join the Regional STEM Partnership:  STEM Inventory

The Workforce Boards of Metropolitan Chicago in partnership with innovative, regional partners are building an inventory of program that focus on the development of STEM skills. The inventory will serve as a regional resource for identifying STEM programs that are available in the metropolitan Chicago region.  In addition to marketing the availability of programs to target audiences, the inventory will foster communication and collaboration between STEM program administrators.

Impact of a Maturing Workforce

The Workforce Boards of Metropolitan Chicago have released a report entitled Impact of a Maturing Workforce. The report presents data on the metropolitan Chicago region's workforce that is 55 years and older and encourages employers to be proactive in preparing for future skill shortages.
